Rolling Huts by Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen
Rolling Huts are minimally appointed mountain cabins mounted on wheels, designed by Seattle architects Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen.
Located at Mazama in Washington State, the six huts serve as guest accommodation for friends of architect Tom Kundig, who has his Delta Shelter weekend retreat in the valley nearby.
The cabins have wheels to get round local planning laws forbidding permanent structures.
Rolling Huts was one of three projects by ASKA Architects to win at the 2007’s AIA Seattle Awards.
so cool!
Not only is the architecture amazing but the purpose behind it. I thought I’d share my Green/Eco-Friendly find of the day.The housing of the future by Russian architect Alexander Remizov could be constructed quickly, withstand environmental disasters, house 10,000 people at a time, and can be built on land or sea. The building is self-sufficient: The basement can store wind, thermal, and solar energy for up to six months, which can then turn into electricity.
The Binvention is a super sleek little waste bin that re-purposes used grocery bags as recycling sorters. The bin is made with an flexible interior space to hold varied sizes bags, to be use for multiple bags, allowing for the sorting of recyclable cans, bottles and papers for home users.
living green is the way!
